Product Description

MAC MINI 2.26/2x1G/160/SD/AP/BT-ITP

Design

Brilliance, squared
There’s nothing like Mac mini. At just 6.5 inches square and 2 inches tall, it’s designed to take up far less room — and use far less energy — than any other desktop computer.

Small. Simple. Beautiful

Mac mini has a sleek, anodized aluminum case and clean, white surface. It’s small, elegant, and unassuming. In fact, it looks so simple it's hard to believe it’s a computer at all.

Packed with power
Mac mini was engineered to fit a lot of computer into a little space. It’s powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with advanced NVIDIA graphics and fast DDR3 memory. There’s plenty of storage space — up to 500GB — for just about anything. And it comes with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, the world’s most advanced operating system. Who knew something so small could be so huge?

Plug and play
Mac mini includes five USB 2.0 ports and one FireWire 800 port, so you can connect your keyboard, mouse, iPod, iPhone, digital camera, DV camcorder, external hard drive, printer, and any other peripherals you use. Mac mini even lets you connect up to two displays, including your TV, with the mini-DVI port and Mini DisplayPort. On the front of Mac mini is the ultrafast, slot-loading SuperDrive for playing DVDs and CDs — or burning your own.

The many uses of Mac mini
Because Mac mini is so small, it can be just about anything you want it to be. And be amazing at it, too. Officially, Mac mini is a desktop computer. But because it can go places no other desktop can go, it’s been used everywhere from boats to server rooms, as the heart of an entertainment center — and even to power robots.

The world’s most energy-efficient desktop computer
~EPEAT Gold and Energy Star logos with a recycle symbol~
What Mac mini doesn’t do could be its biggest feat. It doesn’t waste energy. When Mac mini is idle, it consumes less than 14 watts — no other desktop computer does that. Mac mini is made from highly recyclable aluminum. And the small package makes it efficient to ship.

Features

Full-size features. Pint-size package
A faster processor, more memory, more hard drive space, and more power fit inside one small square. And Mac mini makes room for even more.

Better, faster performance

• Memory and processors

Mac mini is anything but mini under its hood. With either 2GB or 4GB of memory, Mac mini gives you twice as much memory as the previous generation. So now you can run more applications at the same time. You also get a 2.26GHz or a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a blazing-fast 1066MHz frontside bus, and 3MB of L2 cache.

Graphics
The NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor in every Mac mini gives you outstanding graphics performance. It brings pure power to the latest 3D games and graphics-intensive applications. And you’ll notice a big difference when you work with high-resolution photos and high-definition video.

Wireless
The latest 802.11n wireless technology is built into every Mac mini. Once you set up a Wi-Fi network, you can surf the web, print, and stream your music wirelessly. Bluetooth capabilities are also built in, so you can connect Bluetooth accessories such as a wireless keyboard and mouse.

Plenty of storage
Choose your hard drive
Now you can get a 160GB, 320GB, or optional 500GB hard drive and pack in your photos, movies, music, and more, more, more.

Room to burn
You can play and burn all the DVDs and CDs you want with the ultrafast, slot-loading SuperDrive. So load up on photos, movies, and music, and burn them to DVDs whenever you want.

Special server configuration
When you order Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server, you get two 500GB hard drives for 1TB of storage.2 Whether you want to bring your email in house, host wikis and websites, or record and host podcasts, that’s plenty of storage to make it all happen.

Environment

Energy Efficiency
Mac mini is the world’s most energy-efficient desktop computer. It has even earned the EPA’s ENERGY STAR qualification for its low power consumption.

Efficient power supply
Mac mini includes a highly efficient power supply that reduces the amount of power wasted when bringing electricity from the wall to your computer. Lower power consumption reduces energy bills and lessens the environmental impact of greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.

Advanced power management
  • Unlike a lot of Windows-based PC systems, Mac mini uses energy-efficient hardware components that work hand in hand with the operating system to conserve power. Mac OS X spins down hard drives and activates sleep mode. And it balances tasks across both central processors and graphics processors. Mac OS X never misses a power-saving opportunity, no matter how small. It even regulates the processor between keystrokes, reducing power between the letters you type. That’s just one of many ways Apple manages small amounts of power that add up to big savings.
  • Mac mini is a great example of Apple’s energy-efficient design philosophy. It uses less than 14 watts of power when idle — that’s something no other desktop computer can do.

ENERGY STAR qualification
Mac mini meets the stringent low power requirements set by the EPA, giving it ENERGY STAR qualification. ENERGY STAR 5.0 sets significantly higher efficiency limits for power supplies and aggressive limits for the computer’s typical annual power consumption.

Eliminating Toxic Substances
It’s what Mac mini doesn’t have that makes it more environmentally friendly. It’s free of many harmful toxins like BFRs and PVC.

Fewer toxins
One of the greatest environmental challenges facing the computer industry today is the presence of brominated flame retardants (BFRs) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in products. Apple engineers have worked hard to eliminate BFRs and PVC from Mac mini circuit boards, internal cables, connectors, insulators, adhesives, and more. And they’ve eliminated many other toxins that are a common part of desktop computer manufacturing.

Reduced Packaging
Apple designs Mac mini packaging to be as small as possible, so more products fit on fewer planes.

Smaller boxes, fewer planes
The new Mac mini retail packaging is 31 percent smaller than the original Mac mini. In addition, the volume of the shipping box has decreased by 60 percent compared with the first-generation Mac mini. And smaller boxes are better for the planet. Because smaller boxes mean we can fit more boxes in each shipping container — up to twice as many. Which means more products will fit on each boat and plane. Which means fewer boats and planes are used, resulting in fewer CO2 emissions. It’s one seemingly minor change. But it has a major positive impact on our environment.

Recyclability
Because Mac mini is made from materials such as aluminum and polycarbonate, it’s more likely to be recycled and reused at the end of its long, productive life.

• Recyclable materials

Mac mini uses a combination of highly recyclable aluminum and polycarbonate to create its incredibly compact enclosure. Just 6.5 by 6.5 by 2 inches, Mac mini is a fraction of the size of a typical desktop tower, making it one of the most material-efficient desktop computers available.

• Free recycling for your old computer

If you live in the U.S., Apple offers a free recycling program for old computers and displays with the purchase of any new Mac.

EPEAT Gold
Mac mini has earned EPEAT Gold status for its responsible manufacture, energy efficiency, and recyclability.

• The EPEAT Gold rating
Through its innovative and environmentally friendly design, Mac mini has earned the highest rating of EPEAT Gold4. The Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool, or EPEAT, evaluates the environmental impact of a product based on how recyclable it is, how much energy it uses, and how it’s designed and manufactured.
